In this new episode of SHOWCASE Spraying Bricks takes a look back at the D*Face show -- NEW WORLD DISORDER. The show marked a end of an era at the StolenSpace Gallery (then based in the Truman Brewery) as it was the final show before the relocation to Osbourne Street. The exhibition itself included his latest bodies of work which, influenced by the damaging effects of the current social climate, reflects destruction, loss and disorder.
"My work reflects our popular culture encompassing the American dream and the ideal of good triumphing over evil, no longer relevant in today's society where the 'invade now and ask questions later' philosophy isn't tolerated or indeed wanted. Colliding cultures are no longer receptive to the American way, the Superhero's triumph of good over evil as portrayed through the political circus is now decoded through the eyes of differentcultures, weary and wary of the sub-plot played in today's political climate where war equals brand invasion" — D*Face

Red Stripe® Make Session 009 Bolier Room | BYOB Worldwide
In the ninth of the Boiler Room Make Sessions, Red Stripe will team up with innovative visual projector movement BYOB lead bycreative curator Rafaël Rozendaal, for a one off night on 22nd July at the world’s number one underground music show Boiler Room.
Make Session 009 will showcase the best in experiential and visual art work. Whilst Mark Ronson, DJ Drama and Giggs play the biggest rhythms and rhymes from across the globe, BYOB will present their creative projections and pieces of artwork in an experiential exhibition like no other. This taps into the DIY ethos of Boiler Room and Red Stripe, as 15 artists create a patchwork of visual projections in the concrete basement venue. This is the first time Boiler Room will feature a visual collaboration on this scale, and this will all be achieved through a live broadcast.
Heading up the night is true titan of the scene, the legendary musician and producer Mark Ronson who has teased the best out of such artists as Jay-Z, Lily Allen, Amy Winehouse and more. He will be setting the crowd alight with his retro-soul sounds and smoky bars. And joining one of the most in-demand artists in the industry is DJ Drama. Like Mark Ronson, DJ Drama has worked with some huge names including Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Tyler the Creator, 2 Chainz and more. The undisputed King of the mixtape, (most notoriously the Gangsta Grillz series) will be bringing the freshest and harmonious hip-hop to your ears. Following Mark Ronson and DJ Drama, is home-grown, Peckham-based rapper, Giggs, as he unleashes aural warfare presenting the grimiest beats and bangers. This star studded line-up with the visionary projection display is not one to be missed
Make Session 009 is invite only, but can be viewed at www.boilerroom.tv/live

'VII' Group Show at Stolen Space Gallery
In this year's 7th month, they are feeling very fortunate for their past successes and exciting new beginnings, therefore, for the premier exhibition at StolenSpace's new home, they would like to introduce a Group Show, 'VII,' inspired by this lucky and symbolic number.
Whether or not you are of a superstitious persuasion, the number 7 carries with it a myriad of significant connotations. Since the beginning of time, this number has held a powerful place in theological, historical, scientific and cultural memory. According to the Old Testament, the Earth was created in 7 days, in Hinduism there are 7 Chakras, in Christianity there are 7 deadly sins, in Islam there are 7 levels in heaven, and in Judiasm there are 7 blessings and 7 days of mourning. Furthermore, there are 7 days in a week, 7 colours in a rainbow, 7 seas, and 7 wonders of the world. A recurrent motif in art and literature, this number signifies Shakespeare's 7 Ages of Man and the 7 notes in a traditional musical scale. The associations go on and on, and the potential for creative investigation is almost endless.
On 11th July 2013, StolenSpace will open its brand new doors to the public with 'VII,' a group show exhibiting longstanding favorites and fresh newcomers. With tasty refreshments courtesy of Gordon Ramsay's Bread Street Kitchen.
